Nottingham Forest submit £25m bid for Trevoh Chalobah with Steve Cooper's side joining Bayern Munich in the race to sign the out-of-favour Chelsea defender

Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid worth £25m for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Though not quite as prolific as they were following their promotion campaign, Steve Cooper's side have welcomed a number of new arrivals this summer including Anthony Elanga, Matt Turner and Chris Wood.

But a latest bid could see the FA Cup winner join the City Ground side on deadline day.

Despite making 33 appearances in all competitions last summer, Chalobah has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

A hamstring injury curtailed Chalobah's pre-season preparations while Mauricio Pochettino has overseen an influx of new signings after been named the club's new boss in May.
