CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Parker Wolfe was determined not to fade down the stretch at the ACC Championships this season and repeat his 2022 performance.
Instead, he pulled away from the field in the final 1,000 meters to become the Tar Heels' first individual conference champion in over a quarter century.
A year ago, he was tied for the lead heading into the final 1,000 meters but fell back slightly and finished second.
"I was disappointed after coming in second last year, and I had that in the back of my mind, especially at the end of the race," Wolfe said.
